30th Annual Hall of Honor Set for April 2024

The Sidney City Schools Hall of Honor Committee proudly announces the HOH Class of 2024. Those being inducted include community leader and local businessman, Michael Lochard (SHS 1986); retired teacher and award-winning coach, Jim McCracken (SHS 1974); inspiring educator Tony Wagner; and renowned ornithologist Farida Wiley (Orange Township School).

Emmy-award winning producer to join Hall

The Sidney City Schools Hall of Honor will add four new inductees on Friday, April 22, 2022, at 7:00PM in the Sidney High School auditorium to celebrate 27 years of the Hall of Honor and increase membership to 135 since its founding. Of those to receive the highest honor bestowed by Sidney City Schools is Erin Johnson, 4-time Emmy-Award-winning Executive Producer of Entertainment Tonight.

2020 Induction Ceremony Set to Take Place April ...

After a long pause due to the ongoing pandemic, Sidney City Schools is pleased to announce the 27th annual Hall of Honor Induction Ceremony is set to take place Friday, April 22, 2022.

The Hall of Honor Committee has reconvened to set plans to honor those from 2020, including Congressman Warren Davidson (SHS 1988), Retired Sidney High math teacher and boys soccer coach Eric Harlamert (SHS 1976), Emmy Award-winning executive producer Erin Johnson (SHS 2000, co-valedictorian), and the late Rob Joslin.

She Dared to Wear Pants

Susan L. Russell (SHS 1970), a National Merit Scholar, Editor of the school newspaper, and the first girl who dared to wear pants to school, will come home to Sidney High School to be inducted into the Sidney City Schools Hall of Honor on Friday, April 21, at 7:30pm. 

She will be joined by Martin L. "Mick" Given (SHS 1975), Thomas P. Milligan (SHS 1978), and the late Kenneth W. McCormick (Teacher 1968-93) in raising Hall membership to 123. The public event will be followed by an open gymnasium reception.
